Thai AirAsia X to increase Bangkok – Tokyo Narita from early October 2024

Thai AirAsia X will move all its flights from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi to Don Mueang in October 2024.

Thai AirAsia X will increase the frequency of its Bangkok – Tokyo Narita route between October 10, 2024, and the end of the 2024 winter schedule (March 29, 2025) from the current double daily to 18 weekly flights. Whether the increase will continue into the 2025 summer schedule is unclear at this point.

Between October 10 and October 26, 2024, Thai AirAsia X will connect the two cities as follows:

  • XJ602 / Bangkok Don Mueang – Tokyo Narita / 2:25AM – 10:55AM
  • XJ606 / Bangkok Don Mueang – Tokyo Narita / 10:50AM – 7:25PM / Mon, Tue, Thu, Sat
  • XJ600 / Bangkok Don Mueang – Tokyo Narita / 11:25PM – 8:00AM+1
  • XJ601 / Tokyo Narita – Bangkok Don Mueang / 9:15AM – 2:05PM
  • XJ603 / Tokyo Narita – Bangkok Don Mueang / 12:10PM – 5:00PM
  • XJ607 / Tokyo Narita – Bangkok Don Mueang / 8:40PM – 1:30AM+1 / Mon, Tue, Thu, Sat

From October 27, 2024, until the end of the winter schedule, the timings of the flights will be changed slightly and the red-eye rotation out of Bangkok will be operated four times a week instead of the morning departure:

  • XJ602 / Bangkok Don Mueang – Tokyo Narita / 2:40AM – 10:45AM / Mon, Tue, Thu, Sat
  • XJ606 / Bangkok Don Mueang – Tokyo Narita / 10:55AM – 7:00PM
  • XJ600 / Bangkok Don Mueang – Tokyo Narita / 11:50PM – 8:00AM+1
  • XJ601 / Tokyo Narita – Bangkok Don Mueang / 9:15AM – 2:35PM
  • XJ603 / Tokyo Narita – Bangkok Don Mueang / 12:10PM – 5:35PM / Mon, Tue, Thu, Sat
  • XJ607 / Tokyo Narita – Bangkok Don Mueang / 8:15PM – 1:35AM+1

Thai AirAsia X will operate the route using a mix of 367- and 377-seater Airbus A330-300 aircraft. While the former is in an all economy class configuration, the latter is equipped with with 12 “Premium Flatbed” and 365 economy class seats.

Currently, Thai AirAsia X operates flights between Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Narita but will be moving all of its operations to Don Mueang Airport from the beginning of October 2024. In addition to Thai AirAsia X, its group company Thai AirAsia also offers one-stop flights between Bangkok Don Mueang and Narita via Taiwan’s Kaohsiung. That route will be increased from the current four weekly to daily from October 27, 2024.

Separately from the AirAsia group, JAL’s low-cost ZIPAIR, ANA’s low-cost AirJapan, and Thai Lion Air also offer flights between Narita and Suvarnabhumi airports. JAL, ANA, and Thai Airways offer flights between both Narita and Haneda and Suvarnabhumi.

In addition to Tokyo, Thai AirAsia X also offers flights to Osaka Kansai, Sapporo New Chitose (seasonal, winter-only), and Nagoya Chubu (resumed on August 1, 2024).
