JAL’s A350-1000 fleet is based at Tokyo Haneda.

Starting from May 1, 2025, JAL will operate its flights between Tokyo Haneda and Paris Charles de Gaulle using its new flagship Airbus A350-1000, the airline announced in its FY2025 network plan on January 21, 2025. The airline also plans to start using the aircraft on its Los Angeles route later during the 2025 summer schedule, which will last until October 25, 2025.

Paris will be the fourth destination served by the aircraft, which was first deployed on the Tokyo Haneda – New York JFK route on January 24, 2024. Dallas followed on April 17, 2024, and London Heathrow on October 24. The A350-1000 currently operates all flights (double daily and daily, respectively) to the first two destinations and one of the airline’s two daily Haneda – Heathrow rotations.

The A350-1000s are equipped with brand new seats in all classes, including JAL’s first first and business class seats with doors, and can sit 239 passengers including six in first, 54 in business, 24 in premium economy, and 155 in economy class.

In total, JAL ordered 13 airframes to replace its aging Boeing 777-300ERs on a one-to-one basis. So far, it has taken delivery of seven airframes with one more expected within this fiscal year, which lasts until the end of March 2025. It expects to receive three more airframes in fiscal 2025 and the last two in fiscal 2026.
