The flights will switch from Suvarnabhumi to Don Mueang in October 2024.

Yesterday, August 1, 2024, Thai AirAsia X launched flights between Bangkok Suvarnabhumi and Nagoya Chubu first announced in mid-May. The airline will offer four weekly flights on the route as follows:

  • XJ638 / Bangkok Suvarnabhumi – Nagoya Chubu / 12:45AM – 8:40AM / Mon, Wed, Thu, Sun
  • XJ639 / Nagoya Chubu – Bangkok Suvarnabhumi / 10:30AM – 2:35PM / Mon, Wed, Thu, Sun

While Thai AirAsia X offered daily flights from the Thai capital to Nagoya until March 2020 when it suspended them due to the pandemic, it did so from Don Mueang Airport. In fact, the flights from Suvarnabhumi will be short-lived as the airline plans to move all its operations back to Don Mueang from October 1, 2024.

Thai AirAsia X uses its Airbus A330-300s with 377 seats including 12 in business and 365 in economy class on the route.

In addition to Thai AirAsia X, Thai Airways also offers non-stop daily (11 weekly from October 2024) flights between Suvarnabhumi and Chubu. Prior to the pandemic, JAL and Thai Lion Air also connected Nagoya and Bangkok. While the former flew to Suvarnabhumi, the latter served Nagoya from Don Mueang.

Nagoya Chubu follow’s year-round Tokyo Narita and Osaka Kansai and seasonal Sapporo New Chitose as Thai AirAsia X’s fourth destination in Japan.
