Batik Air Malaysia set to terminate KL – Taipei – Nagoya in mid-February 2025

Batik Air Malaysia also serves Nagoya via Kaohsiung.

Batik Air Malaysia, which operates a number of one-stop routes from Kuala Lumpur to Japan via Taiwan in addition to non-stop flights, stopped selling tickets for its Kuala Lumpur – Nagoya Chubu via Taipei Taoyuan flights departing after February 13, 2025.

Given that the airline is already selling tickets for flights departing during the 2025 summer schedule on other routes, it is likely the route is being terminated indefinitely.

Currently, the last flight on the route is scheduled to operate on February 13, 2025, and until then, the route will operate three times a week as follows:

  • OD886 / Kuala Lumpur – Taipei Taoyuan / 7:10AM – 12:05PM / Tue, Thu, Sat
  • OD886 / Taipei Taoyuan – Nagoya Chubu / 1:05PM – 4:50PM / Tue, Thu, Sat
  • OD887 / Nagoya Chubu – Taipei Taoyuan / 5:50PM – 8:20PM / Tue, Thu, Sat
  • OD887 / Taipei Taoyuan – Kuala Lumpur / 9:20PM – 2:05AM+1 / Tue, Thu, Sat

While Batik Air Malaysia appears set to terminate the flights via Taipei Taoyuan, it will continue to serve Nagoya Chubu from Kuala Lumpur via Kaohsiung. In fact, it plans to increase the route via Kaohsiung from the current three weekly flights to four starting in mid-December 2024.

The Nagoya – Taipei route will continue to be served multiple airlines including JAL, Peach, China Airlines, Starlux, Tigerair Taiwan, and Cathay Pacific.

Outside Nagoya, Batik Air Malaysia is also planning to terminate its one-stop Kuala Lumpur to Osaka via Taipei route.
