Batik Air Malaysia to terminate KL – Taipei – Osaka in early Dec. 2024, reduce before that

Batik Air Malaysia
Batik Air Malaysia currently operates daily Kuala Lumpur – Taipei Taoyuan – Osaka Kansai flights.

From the beginning of November 2024, Batik Air Malaysia will reduce the frequency of its one-stop Kuala Lumpur – Osaka Kansai via Taipei Taoyuan route from the current one daily flight to four weekly. It will then terminate the route, with the last flight scheduled to operate on December 7, 2024.

Once the service is reduced, it will operate as follows:

  • OD880 / Kuala Lumpur – Taipei Taoyuan / 1:00AM – 5:55AM / Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat
  • OD880 / Taipei Taoyuan – Osaka Kansai / 7:25AM – 10:50AM / Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat
  • OD881 / Osaka Kansai – Taipei Taoyuan / 11:50AM – 1:35PM / Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat
  • OD881 / Taipei Taoyuan – Kuala Lumpur / 2:35PM – 7:25PM / Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat

Batik Air Malaysia will use its single-class 180-seater Boeing 737-8s on the route until its termination.

Even after Batik Air Malaysia’s suspension of the route, airlines including JAL, Peach, Jetstar Japan, China Airlines, EVA Air, Starlux, Tigerair Taiwan, Cathay Pacific, AirAsia X, and Thai VietJet will continue to offer approximately 20 flights a day between Osaka and Taipei. Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia X will continue to serve the Osaka – Kuala Lumpur route non-stop.

While Batik Air Malaysia will exit the Taiwan – Osaka market, it will increase frequency of its Kuala Lumpur – Nagoya Chubu via Kaohsiung route from mid-December 2024.
