ANA will expand its domestic network by resuming flights connecting Okinawa’s Miyako with Ishigaki on October 27, 2024. From then on, the flights will operate daily as follows:
- NH1791 / Miyako – Ishigaki / 8:45AM – 9:20AM
- NH1792 / Ishigaki – Miyako / 8:30AM – 9:00AM
The flights are expected to be operated using Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 166 seats including 8 in Premium Class and 158 in economy class.
ANA suspended the route at the end of the 2017 winter schedule, operating the last flight on March 24, 2018. The airline said it is resuming it “to improve the convenience and efficiency of flights to the Sakishima Islands,” which are the southernmost Japanese islands.
Currently, the route is operated by JAL Group’s Ryukyu Air Commuter, which runs three daily roundtrips using Bombardier Dash 8 Q400CC aircraft on behalf of Japan Transocean Air.
Covering a distance of just 71 miles, the route will be the shortest in ANA’s network.
In addition to Ishigaki – Miyako, ANA also plans to expand its international network during the 2024 winter schedule by resuming Tokyo Narita – Perth and launching Tokyo Haneda – Milan, Stockholm, and Istanbul.
