On July 19, 2024, ANA announced the details of its upcoming European expansion, which will include the launch of three new routes from Tokyo Haneda between December 2024 and February 2025. The last of the three destinations to launch following Milan in December 2024 and Stockholm in January 2025 will be Istanbul.
Starting from February 12, 2025, ANA will operate three weekly flights between Tokyo Haneda and Istanbul as follows:
- NH219 / Tokyo Haneda – Istanbul / 8:15AM – 3:55PM / Mon, Wed, Sat
- NH220 / Istanbul – Tokyo Haneda / 6:10PM – 11:20AM+1 / Mon, Wed, Sat
ANA will use its Boeing 787-8s in long-haul configuration with 184 seats including 32 in business, 14 in premium economy, and 138 in economy class on the new route.
It will be the second airline to connect Tokyo and Istanbul, as well Japan and Turkey in general. Currently, Turkish Airlines offers daily flights to both Tokyo Haneda and Narita, as well as to Osaka Kansai.
All three of the European destinations set to launch during the upcoming winter schedule were originally slated to launch in April 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic brought the travel industry to a halt.
