Tigerair Taiwan is now planning to launch flights between Taipei Taoyuan and Yonago in April 2025, Tottori Prefecture Governor Shinji Hirai said at a press conference held on November 6, 2024.
The route was first planned to be launched during 2024 through charters following an agreement between the prefecture and Tigerair Taiwan signed in September 2023. The launch was then delayed to January 2024. According to Hirai, the latest postponement has been caused by the lack of aircraft that could be used for the route.
Tigerair Taiwan plans to operate the route using Airbus A320 aircraft. It operates the A320-200 and the A320neo, both with 180 economy class seats.
There are currently no flights between Yonago and Taipei. The Japanese airport’s international network includes Air Seoul flights from Seoul Incheon and Greater Bay Airlines flights from Hong Kong. The latter was launched this October.
