Hong Kong Airlines will only offer economy class on the Sendai route.

Hong Kong Airlines will launch flights between Hong Kong and Sendai on December 14, 2024, Sendai Airport announced earlier today. The flights will operate three times a week as follows:

  • HX584 / Hong Kong – Sendai / 9:40AM – 2:35PM / Mon, Wed, Sat
  • HX585 / Sendai – Hong Kong / 3:35PM – 8:00PM / Mon, Wed, Sat

The airline will operate the route using single-class Airbus A320 aircraft with 174 economy class seats. Tickets will be released for booking starting on October 10, 2024.

While currently there are no flights between the two cities, two other airlines already announced their plans to launch the route around the same time that Hong Kong Airlines will. Greater Bay Airlines will operate four weekly flights from December 7, 2024, and HK Express will operate four weekly flights from January 17, 2024.

With that, from early next year, there will be 11 weekly roundtrips between Sendai and Hong Kong including two roundtrips on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and one roundtrip on Sundays.

In the past, Dragonair offered non-stop Hong Kong – Sendai flights. Those were discontinued in 2011.
