HK Express to launch Hong Kong – Sendai in mid-January 2025

HK Express A320neo
HK Express plans to operate the Sendai route using A320neos.

HK Express will launch Hong Kong – Sendai on January 17, 2025. The flights will operate four times a week as follows:

  • UO890 / Hong Kong – Sendai / 8:15AM – 1:30PM / Tue, Wed, Fri, Sun
  • UO891 / Sendai – Hong Kong / 2:25PM – 7:00PM / Tue, Wed, Fri, Sun

HK Express will use Airbus A320neo aircraft with 188 seats, all in economy class, on the route.

While currently no airline offers scheduled Hong Kong – Sendai flights, Greater Bay Airlines will launch the route, which was last operated in 2011 by Dragonair, in early December 2024. Once HK Express launches its flights, there will be eight weekly flights between the two cities: two on each Tuesday and Friday, and one on each Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. There will be no flights on Thursdays.

HK Express is currently expanding its Japan network. In addition to its existing flights to Tokyo Haneda and Narita, Osaka Kansai, Nagoya Chubu, Takamatsu (to be increased to daily from November 2024), Fukuoka, and Naha, it is also planning to resume Hong Kong – Hiroshima in November 2024.
