On July 30, 2024, China Eastern Airlines will resume its Ningbo – Osaka Kansai route, which it previously operated until the pandemic brought the travel industry to a halt. Once resumed, the flights will operate three times a week as follows:
- MU2097 / Ningbo – Osaka Kansai / 11:00AM – 2:30PM / Tue, Thu, Sat
- MU2098 / Osaka Kansai – Ningbo / 3:30PM – 5:20PM / Tue, Thu, Sat
Like Hefei – Osaka Kansai, which the airline plans to resume a couple of days before this route, the Ningbo – Osaka flights are currently listed for sale until the end of the 2024 summer schedule (the last currently bookable roundtrip is on October 26, 2024). Whether the flights will continue to operate during the winter schedule and if so at what frequency is unclear.
The flights will be operated using Airbus A320s with 158 seats including eight in business and 150 in economy class.
China Eastern will be the second airline to offer non-stop flights between Ningbo and Osaka. Currently, Spring Airlines offers four weekly flights.
Ningbo will be the fourth Chinese city with non-stop China Eastern flights to Osaka Kansai after Beijing, Shanghai, and Hefei.
