On March 13, 2024, ZIPAIR operated its first flight between Tokyo Narita and Vancouver, its first destination in Canada.

The first flight was operated by a Boeing 787-8 registered JA828J which, like all other aircraft in the airline’s fleet, is equipped with 18 reverse herringbone full-flat seats and 272 regular economy class seats. With 267 passengers onboard the inaugural flight, nearly all of the 290 seats were taken.

The inaugural flight left its parking spot at Tokyo Narita Airport Terminal 1 at 4:12PM and took off from runway 34L at 4:27PM. It landed on Vancouver Airport’s runway 08L at 8:18AM of the same day after crossing the International Date Line and came to a full stop at its arrival gate at 8:23AM, seven minutes ahead of schedule.

The inaugural flight in the other direction departed Vancouver on time and is currently making its way to Japan.

Going forward, the flights will operate three times per week until March 30, 2024, and then be increased to five weekly from March 31, 2024. You can find the detailed schedule here.

ZIPAIR serves the Tokyo Narita – Vancouver route alongside its parent JAL and Air Canada, both of which offer daily flights. ANA operates daily flights to the Canadian city from Tokyo Haneda.
