At the end of December 2023, ZIPAIR announced it will be launching Tokyo Narita – Vancouver flights on March 13, 2024. Originally, the route was scheduled to operate three times a week throughout 2024 summer schedule. That has now been revised to five times a week starting from July 23, 2024.
With that, once the schedule increase comes into effect, the flights will operate not only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays as initially planned but also on Tuesdays and Fridays. The exact flight times on the route will vary slightly depending on the season.
Below is the schedule for the first few weeks of the route’s operation, up to March 30, 2024:
- ZG22 / Tokyo Narita – Vancouver / 4:00PM – 8:30AM / Mon, Wed, Sat
- ZG21 / Vancouver – Tokyo Narita / 10:30AM – 1:00PM+1 / Mon, Wed, Sat
Between March 31 and June 30, 2024, and October 1 and October 26, 2024, the flights will operate as follows:
- ZG22 / Tokyo Narita – Vancouver / 3:40PM – 8:25AM / Mon, Tue*, Wed, Fri*, Sat
- ZG21 / Vancouver – Tokyo Narita / 10:25AM – 12:25PM+1 / Mon, Tue*, Wed, Fri*, Sat
* Starting from July 23, 2024.
Lastly, from July 1 to September 30, 2024, the schedule will be as follows:
- ZG22 / Tokyo Narita – Vancouver / 3:40PM – 8:45AM / Mon, Tue*, Wed, Fri*, Sat
- ZG21 / Vancouver – Tokyo Narita / 10:45AM – 12:25PM+1 / Mon, Tue*, Wed, Fri*, Sat

The schedule beyond October 26, 2024, has not been announced yet.
ZIPAIR will use the sole aircraft type in its fleet, Boeing 787-8, on the flights. The airline currently has eight airframes in its fleet (with two more joining in FY2025), each seating 290 passengers (18 reverse herringbone business class seats and 272 economy class seats).
Vancouver will be ZIPAIR’s first destination in Canada and fourth transpacific following Los Angeles, San Jose, and San Francisco. The airline also serves Honolulu.
Currently, ZIPAIR’s parent JAL and Air Canada each operate a daily flight between Tokyo Narita and Vancouver. The former uses 767-300ERs on the route while the latter 777-300ERs. Additionally, ANA offers daily flights between Tokyo Haneda and Vancouver. ZIPAIR will be the first low-cost airline to serve the route.
