United to stop flying between Guam and Fukuoka from 2024 winter schedule

United Airlines 737-800
Currently, Fukuoka is one of four Japanese airports with United service to Guam.

United Airlines stopped sales of tickets for non-stop flights between Guam and Fukuoka departing on October 27, 2024, and later. The flights will continue to operate daily until October 26, 2024, i.e., the end of the 2024 summer schedule.

It is not clear whether United is suspending the route temporarily and will resume it during the 2025 summer schedule or whether the route is being canceled permanently.

The flights currently operate daily as follows:

  • UA165 / Guam – Fukuoka / 7:00AM – 10:10AM
  • UA166 / Fukuoka – Guam / 11:05AM – 4:00PM

United uses Boeing 737-800 with 166 seats including 16 in business and 150 in economy class on the flights. Coincidentally, the airline is also planning to launch Tokyo Narita – Cebu flights using the same type on October 27, 2024. Whether the two events are related or not is unclear.

Three other Japanese airports including Tokyo Narita, Osaka Kansai, and Nagoya Chubu will continue to have non-stop United flights to Guam. Fukuoka, on the other hand, will only be served by one US airline, Hawaiian Air, after United stops the Guam route.
