Turkish Airlines will reduce the frequency of its Istanbul – Osaka Kansai route from the current daily to five weekly flights between December 2, 2024, and the end of February 2025. The flights will return to daily after that.
During the period with reduced service, Turkish Airlines will operate the route as follows:
- TK86 / Istanbul – Osaka Kansai / 2:15AM – 6:55PM / Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat
- TK87 / Osaka Kansai – Istanbul / 10:30PM – 5:40AM+1 / Mon, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat
The airline will continue to use Boeing 787-9 aircraft with 300 seats including 30 in business and 270 in economy class on the route.
Turkish Airlines is the only airline connecting Osaka with the Turkish capital. The airline also offers daily flights between Istanbul and both Tokyo Haneda and Narita. While it is the only airline operating those routes as well, ANA will launch Haneda – Istanbul in early 2025, becoming the second airline to offer non-stop flights between Japan and Turkey.
