Thai VietJet Air will launch one-stop flights from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi to Sapporo New Chitose via Taipei Taoyuan on December 17, 2024. The airline will have fifth freedom rights to transport passengers traveling solely between Sapporo and Taipei, and will operate the route three times a week as follows:

  • VZ570 / Bangkok Suvarnabhumi – Taipei Taoyuan / 9:05AM – 1:45PM / Tue, Thu, Sat
  • VZ570 / Taipei Taoyuan – Sapporo New Chitose / 2:45PM – 7:25PM / Tue, Thu, Sat
  • VZ571 / Sapporo New Chitose – Taipei Taoyuan / 8:25PM – 12:25AM+1 / Tue, Thu, Sat

The airline will use its 180-seater all-economy class Airbus A320-200 aircraft on the route, which is currently scheduled to operate until March 29, 2024, i.e., the end of the winter schedule. It is unclear whether the route will continue to operate year-round or only during winter time.

Currently, China Airlines, EVA Air, Starlux, Tigerair Taiwan, and Scoot connect Taipei and Sapporo. Thai Airways offers non-stop flights between Bangkok and the city in Hokkaido.

Thai VietJet Air will also extend its other Bangkok – Taipei rotation to continue to Naha in Okinawa from early November 2024.
