Starting from October 27, 2024, Starlux Airlines will start using its Airbus A330-900 aircraft on flights from Taipei Taoyuan to Kumamoto.

The A330neo is scheduled to replace the smaller A321neo on all of Starlux’s daily flights on the route until November 29, 2024. After that, it is scheduled to operate the route four times a week, every Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday, with the remaining three rotations being operated by the A321neo.

In addition to the Kumamoto flights, Starlux will also upgauge its flights from Taipei to Fukuoka and Sendai. Combined with its flights to Tokyo and Osaka, the airline will serve five destinations in Japan using wide-body aircraft.

Being equipped with staggered business class seats, the A330neo is not only larger than the A321neo but also offers better onboard comfort, especially in business class. Overall, the 297-seater A330neo has 109 more seats than the 188-seater A321neo. It has 28 seats in business (vs. eight on the A321neo) and 269 in economy class (vs. 180).
