Solaseed Air will make changes to Solaseed Smile Club mileage accrual and redemption rates applicable to flights departing on October 27, 2024, or later, the airline announced on August 6, 2024.
While the number of miles required to book most one-way awards will decrease, the number required for roundtrips will increase. That is because the airline will stop offering discount on roundtrip award tickets, pricing them at double the one-way price instead.
Tickets on Tokyo – Naha and Nagoya – Naha routes will see the most significant increase. Currently, they cost 10,000 miles one-way and 15,000 miles roundtrip during high; 8,000 one-way and 13,000 roundtrip during regular; and 6,000 one-way and 11,000 roundtrip during low season. From the 2024 winter schedule, one-way prices will increase to 13,000 miles; 11,000 miles; and 9,000 miles, respectively, which will also mean a considerable increase in roundtrip prices.
One-way Naha – Ishigaki award ticket prices will remain unchanged at 7,000 miles; 5,000 miles; and 4,000 miles depending on the season. High season roundtrip prices will, however, increase significantly from 11,500 to 14,000 miles. Regular and low season roundtrip prices will increase by 500 miles from 9,500 and 7,500 to 10,000 and 8,000 miles, respectively.
Award tickets on all other Solaseed Air routes now cost 9,000 miles one-way and 14,000 miles roundtrip during high; 7,000 and 12,000 during regular; and 5,000 and 9,500 during low season. From the 2024 winter schedule, one-way prices during high and regular season will decrease to 8,000 and 6,000, respectively. That will mean a 2,000-mile increase for high season, no change for regular season, and 500-mile increase for low season roundtrips.
On the mileage earning side, Solaseed Air will add a 150% earning rate in addition to its existing 50%, 75%, and 100% earning rates. In general, it will increase the earning rate, moving some of its fares to a higher earning rate, thus, to an extent, negating the effect of the award price increases.
Solaseed Air’s partner ANA also plans to change its mileage redemption rates from late October 2024.
