With its caterer’s strike cancelled, JAL will not temporarily downgrade its meal service.

With a strike that was looming at JAL’s caterer in the United States averted, JAL will continue to offer full-scale meal service on its flights from Boston to Tokyo Narita (JL7) and from Dallas to Tokyo Haneda (JL11) on July 30, 2024, and beyond, the airline announced on July 29, 2024.

The announcement comes after JAL announced plans to reduce onboard service on those flights for the duration of the strike to lunch boxes and light meals in all classes.

JAL also modified the departure time of its Tokyo Narita – Boston flight considerably due to the strike it was expecting. The modified schedule will remain in effect in spite of the strike having been cancelled. However, the schedule will return to normal from August 7, 2024, rather than the originally planned August 14, 2024.
