Ibex to operate Sendai – Komatsu charter in September 2024

Ibex Airlines, a Sendai-based regional airline, will operate a charter roundtrip between its base, Sendai Airport, and Komatsu in Japan’s Hokuriku region on behalf of Tour Wave, a Sendai-based tour operator, in September 2024.

The flight will be sold as part of Tour Wave’s package tours aimed at supporting the Hokuriku region, which was hit by a major earthquake at the beginning of 2024. The roundtrip will operate as follows:

  • Sendai – Komatsu / 10:40AM – 11:45AM / September 6, 2024
  • Komatsu – Sendai / 7:05PM – 8:05PM / September 9, 2024

The schedule of ferry flights related to the two revenue flights above has not been disclosed.

The flight will be operated by the sole aircraft type in Ibex’s fleet, a 70-seater Bombardier CRJ-700.

Ibex Airlines does not offer any scheduled flights to Komatsu and there are no other scheduled flights between Sendai and Komatsu operated by other airlines either. Toki Air is the only airline offering scheduled flights between Sendai and the Hokuriku region. That said, it flies to Niigata, which is over 300 km away from Komatsu.
