Fukuoka Airport’s passenger service facility charge (PSFC) will increase for tickets booked on March 30, 2025, and later, announced the airport’s operator Fukuoka International Airport on November 22, 2024.
According to the statement, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Tourism approved Fukuoka Airport’s PSFC to be increased from the current 980 yen per departing adult passenger aged 12 and over to 2,530 yen and from 490 yen to 1,260 yen for passengers aged two to 12. PSFC applicable to transit passengers will be added as well, with the airport charging 1,260 yen per adult and 630 yen per children aged two to 12.
The PSFC, which is charged at the time of booking a ticket alongside the fare, is used by airports to fund the development and maintenance of terminal facilities. Fukuoka Airport is increasing the charge at the occasion of completing the refurbishment of its international terminal expected in late March 2025.
With the increase, Fukuoka Airport’s PSFC will be set at a level similar to other major airports in Japan, where the charge ranges between approximately 2,400 and 3,000 yen per departing passenger. Tokyo Narita’s PSFC is 2,460 yen per departing adult passenger (terminals 1 and 2), Haneda’s is 2,950 yen, and Osaka Kansai’s is 2,780 yen (terminal 1).
