Eva Air is considering operating charter flights between Taipei Taoyuan and Kobe between April and October 2025, Kobe’s local newspaper Kobe Shimbun reported on December 6, 2024.

While details of the flights are yet to be announced, the airline is eyeing operating two to four weekly flights depending on demand. With Expo 2025 Osaka starting on April 13 and ending on October 13, 2025, it is likely the flights will operate from around April 18, 2025, when Kobe Airport will open for international charter flights until mid-October 2025.

The report comes shortly after Starlux Airlines announced its plan to serve Kobe with three weekly flights from Taipei Taoyuan and daily flights from Taichung starting from April 2025.

In addition to the planned charters between Taipei and Kobe, multiple airlines also offer flights between Taipei and Osaka Kansai.

Kobe Airport currently only handles domestic flights. However, in addition to enabling international charter flights from mid-April 2025, the airport is also expected to start handling international scheduled flights from around 2030.
