Reconstruction of Nagoya Chubu Airport Terminal 1’s domestic security check area started on August 2, 2024. It is expected to be completed at the end of October 2025.

As part of the first major reconstruction of the terminal’s security check area, the airport will install newer X-ray machines, as well as smart lanes. The latter will allow multiple passengers in one lane to prepare for their security check at once, thus speeding operations up. The construction will affect the operation of some of the airport’s gift shops.

While only applicable to passengers traveling on international flights, Chubu Airport also plans to increase its passenger security service charge from October 1, 2024.
