In addition to increasing the frequency, Cebu Pacific will also upgauge select flights.

Cebu Pacific will increase the frequency of its Manila – Nagoya Chubu route to daily from October 1, 2024. The airline will add Wednesday and Friday rotations to the existing five weekly and operate the route as follows:

  • 5J5038 / Manila – Nagoya Chubu / 6:50AM – 12:05PM
  • 5J5039 / Nagoya Chubu – Manila / 1:10PM – 4:45PM

Until December 16, the airline will continue to use its all-economy class Airbus A321neo with 188 seats every day. From December 17, it will upgauge three flights a week (Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday) to the significantly larger A330-900 with 459 economy class seats.

Currently, Cebu Pacific flies between Manila and Nagoya alongside Jetstar Japan and Philippines Airlines, both of which operate the route five times a week. In late October 2024, AirAsia Philippines will also launch flights on the route, initially with three weekly rotations.

Cebu Pacific, which serves Tokyo Narita out of Manila and Cebu and Osaka Kansai, Nagoya Chubu, and Fukuoka out of Manila, is in the process of expanding its presence in Japan.

As reported earlier by AeroRoutes, alongside the Nagoya service expansion, it will also be upgauging some of its A321neo-operated flights between Manila and Tokyo Narita and Osaka Kansai to the A330-900 during the 2024 winter schedule. Additionally, in mid-October 2024, it will launch Cebu – Osaka Kansai.
