Cathay Pacific to increase Hong Kong – Sapporo to up to three daily in winter 2024

Cathay Pacific will operate the extra rotations using a mix of 777-300ERs and A350-900s.

Cathay Pacific will increase the frequency of its Hong Kong – Sapporo New Chitose flights from the current five weekly to daily from December 1, 2024. It will increase it further to double daily from December 12, 2024, and triple daily from December 18, 2024, before reducing the route back to five weekly from February 20, 2025.

At the peak, the route will operate as follows:

  • CX5801 / Hong Kong – Sapporo New Chitose / 9:10AM – 2:50PM
  • CX5842 / Hong Kong – Sapporo New Chitose / 10:25AM – 3:55PM
  • CX5863 / Hong Kong – Sapporo New Chitose / 12:20PM – 5:55PM
  • CX5811 / Sapporo New Chitose – Hong Kong / 4:00PM – 8:55PM
  • CX5832 / Sapporo New Chitose – Hong Kong / 5:05PM – 10:05PM
  • CX5873 / Sapporo New Chitose – Hong Kong / 7:05PM – 11:55PM

1 Monday and Friday frequencies to be added to existing five weekly between December 1, 2024, and March 30, 2025.
2 Rotation scheduled to operate between December 12, 2024, and February 19, 2025.
3 Rotation scheduled to operate between December 18, 2024, and February 19, 2025.

The existing CX580/CX581 rotation will continue to be operated using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with 368 seats including 40 in business, 32 in premium economy, and 296 in economy class. The CX584/CX583 rotation will use the same 777 configuration too, while the CX586/CX587 rotation will be operated using Airbus A350-900 aircraft with 280 seats including 38 in business, 28 in premium economy, and 214 in economy class.

In addition to Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Airlines offers non-stop flights between the two cities as well. It plans a year-round increase on the route to daily from late October 2024.
