Between August 13 and 31, 2024, Asiana Airlines will offer two weekly flights between Seoul Incheon and Asahikawa in Hokkaido. In total, there will be six roundtrips between the two cities that will operate as follows:
- OZ1543 / Seoul Incheon – Asahikawa / 12:15PM – 3:20PM / Tue, Sat
- OZ1533 / Asahikawa – Seoul Incheon / 4:20PM – 7:20PM / Tue, Sat
Asiana Airlines will operate the route using its less-premium Airbus A321neo aircraft with 188 seats including eight in business and 180 in economy class (it also operates the aircraft with 180 seats including 12 in business and 168 in economy class).
There are no other scheduled flights between Asahikawa and Seoul. Asiana Airlines operated seasonal flights on the route until August 2018, after which the flights no longer operated due to worsening relations between Japan and South Korea and later due to COVID-19. In the summer of 2023, the airline offered Seoul – Asahikawa flights for the first time in five years.
While connections between Asahikawa and the South Korean capital are limited, Asiana Airlines and multiple other airlines fly between Seoul and Sapporo New Chitose located about 100 miles to the south. In fact, during the peak summer seasons, Asiana Airlines offers an increased schedule on the route.
