
The aircraft registered JA981A took off from Charleston just after 4PM on March 18, 2024, and flew to Los Angeles where it landed about five hours later, at 6PM local time.
On March 18, 2024, ANA took delivery of its first domestically configured Boeing 787-10 in Charleston, and over the following two days, the aircraft was ferried to its new base, Tokyo Haneda, via Los Angeles and Honolulu.
The next day, on March 19, 2024, it left Los Angeles just before 12:30PM and landed in Honolulu just under six hours later, around 3PM.
Finally, it took off from Honolulu at 6PM on the same day and landed on Tokyo Haneda Airport’s runway 34R at 10:24PM. After landing, it taxied to a parking spot in front of ANA’s maintenance hangars.
The first domestic 787-10 is equipped with 429 seats including 28 in Premium Class, like the ten more that ANA has on order will be. The 11 aircraft will be used to replace the airline’s domestic 777s and will operate alongside its three international 787-10s.
ANA plans to operate the first scheduled flight of the domestic 787-10 on March 27, 2024, from Tokyo to Sapporo New Chitose and back. After that, the aircraft will operate key domestic routes including Tokyo Haneda to Fukuoka, Sapporo, and Osaka Itami.
