ANA’s domestic 787-10 to debut in March, serve three destinations from April 2024

ANA already operates the 787-10 on international flights.

ANA is expected to receive its first Boeing 787-10 in domestic configuration shortly. The aircraft will enter into commercial service on March 27, with flight NH59 from Tokyo Haneda to Sapporo New Chitose being its first flight, followed by the return leg (NH62).

While ANA received its first 787-10 in April 2019 and additional two since then, those are in an international configuration with 294 seats including 38 in business, 21 in premium economy, and 235 in economy class. The aircraft are used on ANA’s flights within Asia (although they briefly operated domestic flights in the past too) and appear in the airline’s schedule as “781.”

The domestic 787-10s, on the other hand, will be equipped with 429 seats including 28 in Premium Class (ANA’s domestic first class) and 401 in economy class. They appear in the schedule as “78K.” ANA has a total of 11 787-10s in the domestic configuration on order and is planning to use them to replace its domestic 777-200ERs and 777-300s.

On the first day of service, the aircraft will only operate the one rotation mentioned above, with the following schedule:

  • NH59 / Tokyo Haneda – Sapporo New Chitose / 10:00AM – 11:35AM
  • NH62 / Sapporo New Chitose – Tokyo Haneda / 12:30PM – 2:10PM

After that, the aircraft does not appear to be scheduled to fly until April 1, 2024. From that point onward, it can be seen in the schedule appearing on a variety of different rotations between Tokyo Haneda and Sapporo New Chitose, Osaka Itami, and Fukuoka.

In addition to the 787-10, ANA also operates a large fleet of 787-8s and 787-9s, making it the world’s largest 787 operator with over 80 airframes in service.
