ANA-Demon Slayer partnership to end in May 2024, Dash 8 decals to be removed

ANA Demon Slayer Jets
At one point, ANA operated six Demon Slayer-themed aircraft including three jets.

In December 2021, ANA partnered with the popular anime series Demon Slayer. The partnership will expire on May 31, 2024, and with that, Demon Slayer-themed decals will be removed from the last remaining themed aircraft and service aspects featuring the anime will be suspended.

Currently, ANA operates three Demon Slayer Props, Bombardier Dash 8 Q400s (aircraft registered JA844A, JA846A, and JA850A) with small Demon Slayer decals on the fuselage and stickers on tray tables. The last Demon Slayer Prop flight is expected to be flight NH1650 from Matsuyama to Osaka Itami on May 24, 2024.

Prior to applying stickers to the three Dash 8s in July 2023, ANA also operated three jets in more extensive special Demon Slayer-themed liveries. The first two were Boeing 767-300ERs (JA616A and JA608A) and the third one was a 777-200ER (JA745A). The first Demon Slayer Jet operated from January 31, 2022, until October 21, 2023; the second from March 26, 2022, until March 25, 2024; and the third from October 3, 2022, until April 9, 2024.

As such, ANA had six Demon Slayer-themed aircraft in its fleet between introducing the Demon Slayer Props in July 2023 and retiring the first Demon Slayer Jet in October 2023.
