ZIPAIR operates an all-Boeing 787-8 fleet.

JAL’s low-cost subsidiary ZIPAIR will operate its Tokyo Narita – Honolulu route daily during Japan’s Golden Week holiday period. It will also add an extra weekly frequency on the Tokyo Narita – San Jose route, which it currently operates five times a week.

ZIPAIR operates the Tokyo Narita – Honolulu route four times a week, every Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. From March 31, 2024, it also plans to operate the route on Fridays. Now the airline has also announced that between April 25 and May 5, 2024, the airline will operate the route on the remaining days of the week too.

The exact schedule during that period will vary slightly (by up to 15 minutes) depending on the day of the week. Below is the Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays schedule for reference:

  • ZG2 / Tokyo Narita – Honolulu / 7:15PM – 7:30AM
  • ZG1 / Honolulu – Tokyo Narita / 9:30AM – 1:10PM+1

The San Jose route will see a schedule increase for a good portion of the summer schedule. While currently, the flights operate five days a week excluding Tuesdays and Fridays, ZIPAIR will add an extra rotation every Friday between June 1 and September 30, 2024. The new rotation will operate with the following schedule (the remaining ones will operate at slightly different times):

  • ZG30 / Tokyo Narita – San Jose / 4:30PM – 9:45AM
  • ZG29 / San Jose – Tokyo / 11:45AM – 2:55PM

The new frequencies will be operated by Boeing 787-8 aircraft, the sole type in ZIPAIR’s fleet. With that, on each flight, the airline will offer 290 seats including 18 reverse herringbone seats and 272 regular economy class seats.
