ZIPAIR expands same-day upgrade service to include Manila

On March 4, 2024, ZIPAIR announced that it started selling upgrades from standard seats to full-flat seats at departure airports on the day of departure on a space-available basis. On April 22 and May 9, 2024, more routes became eligible for same-day upgrades.

The upgrade fees are fixed per route as follows:

  • Tokyo Narita – Seoul Incheon: 10,000 yen (approximately 65 dollars)
  • Tokyo Narita – Manila: 20,000 yen (approximately 130 dollars) **
  • Tokyo Narita – Singapore: 40,000 yen (approximately 260 dollars)
  • Tokyo Narita – Bangkok Suvarnabhumi: 40,000 yen (approximately 260 dollars)*
  • Tokyo Narita – Honolulu: 50,000 yen (approximately 320 dollars)*

* Routes added on April 22, 2024.
* Route added on May 9, 2024.

Only credit card payments are accepted. Same-day upgrades on the airline’s other routes are not being sold at this point.

ZIPAIR’s Boeing 787-8s (the sole aircraft type in the airline’s fleet) are equipped with 290 seats including 18 full-flat reverse herringbone seats and 272 regular economy class seats. The full-flat seats are not being sold as a separate class of service but as part of economy class for an additional seat selection fee.
