Toki Air eyeing Niigata – Kobe and Tokyo Narita, Sado – Narita launches in summer 2025

Toki Air ATR 72
Toki Air is a start-up airline based in Niigata.

Toki Air is working on launching three new routes during the next summer schedule, which will last from late March until late October 2025, Niigata Television Network 21 reported on December 13, 2024.

According to the report, Toki Air plans to launch flights from Niigata to Kobe, as well as from Niigata and Sado to Tokyo Narita. Currently, there are no airlines operating any of the routes. That said, ANA, JAL, and Ibex operate multiple daily flights between Niigata and Osaka Itami, which is located close to Kobe. Travel between Niigata and Tokyo is possible in about two hours by bullet train.

Should Toki Air launch flights between Sado and Narita as reported, it would become the first airline to offer scheduled flights to Sado Airport since New Japan Aviation terminated its Niigata – Sado route at the end of March 2014.

Toki Air launched operations in January 2024 with a pair of ATR 72s. Recently, the airline took delivery of an ATR 42, expanding its fleet size to three aircraft. It serves three destinations out of its Niigata base including Sapporo Okadama, Sendai, and Nagoya Chubu.
