Thai Lion Air has fifth freedom rights on the Taipei – Tokyo portion of the route.

Thai Lion Air currently operates five weekly flights from Bangkok Don Muang to Tokyo Narita via Taipei Taoyuan. Starting on June 28, 2024, the airline will increase the frequency to six weekly flights by adding a Friday rotation.

With that, the route will operate as follows:

  • SL394 / Bangkok Don Muang – Taipei Taoyuan / 6:20AM – 11:10AM / Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri*, Sat, Sun
  • SL394 / Taipei Taoyuan – Tokyo Narita / 12:10PM – 4:30PM / Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri*, Sat, Sun
  • SL395 / Tokyo Narita – Taipei Taoyuan / 5:30PM – 8:20PM / Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri*, Sat, Sun
  • SL395 / Taipei Taoyuan – Bangkok Don Muang / 9:20PM – 12:20AM+1 / Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri*, Sat, Sun

* New frequency.

Thai Lion Air uses its Boeing 737-800s with 189 economy class seats on the route.

On the Taipei Taoyuan – Tokyo Narita fifth freedom route, Thai Lion Air competes with several other full-service (EVA Air, China Airlines, Starlux, and JAL) and low-cost (Peach, Tigerair, Scoot, and Jetstar) airlines. No airline offers non-stop flights between Bangkok Don Muang and Tokyo Narita, albeit multiple airlines offer flights from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi.
