Telecube, a Japanese company offering soundproof pods for short-term use throughout Japan recently installed its first pods in Tokyo Haneda Airport passenger terminals. The pods are equipped with power outlets and USB charging ports and offer a private place to work.

Thirteen pods were made available for use in Terminal 1, which is used by JAL, Skymark Airlines, and Starflyer’s domestic flights, on May 20, 2024. In Terminal 2 used by ANA, Air Do, and Solaseed Air, four pods were added on April 16, 2024. In Terminal 1, all the pods are located in one location on the third floor while in Terminal 2, there are two pods on the first basement floor and two on the second floor. All of the pods are located landside, i.e. before the security check.

The pods need to be reserved online and cost 330 yen (approximately 2.15 USD) per 15 minutes.

Telecube pods are also available at Haneda Innovation City, a commercial complex next to the airport, as well as at several other airports in Japan including Asahikawa, Fukuoka, Hakodate, Hiroshima, Kagoshima, Sapporo New Chitose, Sendai, Shizuoka, and Takamatsu.
