While currently Starlux Airlines only operates out of Taipei Taoyuan, the airline will also launch flights from Taichung at the end of March 31, 2024. In addition to the first scheduled route out of the city to Macau, Starlux will also operate scheduled Taichung – Takamatsu charters.
The Taichung – Takamatsu charter flights will operate three times a week starting on March 31, 2024, with the following schedule:
- JX8300 / Taichung – Takamatsu / 8:20AM – 12:00PM / Wed
- JX8300 / Taichung – Takamatsu / 8:40AM – 12:20PM / Fri, Sun
- JX8301 / Takamatsu – Taichung / 1:00PM – 2:55PM / Wed
- JX8301 / Takamatsu – Taichung / 1:20PM – 3:15PM / Fri, Sun
Starlux will use Airbus A321neo aircraft with 188 seats including eight in business and 180 in economy class on the route.
The charter flights are being sold as part of Taiwanese tour operators’ packaged tours and are not available for sale by Japanese tour operators. They are not available for booking through Starlux Airlines’ website or other similar channels either.
At this point, Starlux serves nine destinations in Japan with scheduled flights. Those include Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Nagoya Chubu, Naha, Osaka Kansai, Sapporo New Chitose, Sendai, Tokyo Narita, and most recently, Hakodate. The airline currently does not serve Takamatsu although China Airlines offers scheduled Takamatsu – Taipei Taoyuan flights.
The same day the Takamatsu flights will launch, Starlux will also inaugurate the Macau route. In April 2024, it also plans to expand its network out of Taichung to include Da Nang in Vietnam.
