Today, August 1, 2024, in the early morning hours, Spring Japan begun scheduled domestic freighter operations to Tokyo Haneda on behalf of Yamato Transport. Going forward, the airline will operate two daily roundtrips to the airport, one from each Sapporo New Chitose and Kitakyushu.

The roundtrip from Sapporo will operate as follows:

  • IJ410 / Sapporo New Chitose – Tokyo Haneda / 1:20AM – 3:00AM
  • IJ411 / Tokyo Haneda – Sapporo New Chitose / 4:15AM – 5:55AM

The roundtrip from Kitakyushu will operate as follows:

  • IJ430 / Kitakyushu – Tokyo Haneda / 1:40AM – 3:15AM
  • IJ431 / Tokyko Haneda – Kitakyushu / 4:55AM – 6:40AM

Spring Japan uses Yamato Transport’s Airbus A321P2F aircraft on the route, which the logistics company decided to acquire due to a regulatory change that reduced the number of overtime hours truck drivers can work from April 1, 2024. The partnership was established through Spring Japan’s parent company, JAL, which is responsible for weighing cargo, ramp handling, and aircraft maintenance.

The first of the currently three Yamato A321P2Fs were put into commercial service on April 11, 2024. The aircraft now connect Sapporo New Chitose, Kitakyushu, and Naha with Tokyo Narita, as well as Naha with Kitakyushu, in addition to the new routes to Haneda.
