Spring Japan stopped sales of tickets on its Tokyo Narita – Hiroshima route for flights on December 14, 2024, and later. It is unclear whether the route will be resumed during the 2025 summer schedule or remain suspended indefinitely.
Currently, Spring Japan operates the route twice a day. Hiroshima is one of the destinations it has served since its launch in August 2014 alongside Takamatsu and Saga. The latter two have already been suspended, in 2015 and 2023, respectively.
Once the Hiroshima route is suspended, Spring Japan will resume Tokyo Narita – Sapporo New Chitose, which will be its sole domestic route for the time being.
Scaling down its domestic operations, the joint venture between JAL and Spring Airlines is, instead, focusing the use of its limited size fleet of six Boeing 737-800s on routes between Tokyo Narita and China, serving Tianjin, Harbin, Nanjing, Ningbo, Shanghai, Shijiazhuang, and Beijing.
While there will be no Narita – Hiroshima service following Spring Japan’s suspension of the route, both ANA and JAL will continue to operate multiple daily flights between Tokyo Haneda and Hiroshima.
