Spring Airlines to resume Shanghai Pudong – Takamatsu route in April 2024

On April 2, 2024, the Chinese low-cost airline Spring Airlines will resume flights between Shanghai Pudong and Takamatsu on the island of Shikoku. Initially, the flights will operate three times a week using Airbus A320-200 aircraft. From June 23, 2024, an additional weekly rotation will be added.

The route will operate with the following schedule:

  • 9C8889 / Shanghai Pudong – Takamatsu / 8:45AM – 12:00PM / Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun*
  • 9C8880 / Takamatsu – Shanghai Pudong / 1:00PM – 2:30PM / Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun*

* The Sunday frequency will be added from June 23, 2024.

Spring Airlines operates the A320-200 in two configurations, one with 180 and the other with 186 seats, all in economy class. It is not clear which will be used on the Takamatsu route.

Currently, there is no non-stop connection between Shanghai Pudong and Takamatsu. Spring Airlines used to operate the route before the pandemic and even resumed it briefly at the end of September 2024. However, it paused the route again less than two weeks after the resumption.
