On March 11, 2024, Solaseed Air flight 11 from Tokyo Haneda to Kumamoto Airport was pushed back out of its remote parking spot and started taxiing to its departure runway without all passengers onboard. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800 registered JA805X, left the parking spot two minutes behind schedule, at 7:17AM, with only 71 of the flight’s 105 passengers onboard.
The flight’s passengers were bussed from Terminal 2’s gate 500 to remote parking spot 502 using three separate buses. While the first and third buses offloaded the passengers in front of the Solaseed Air aircraft, the second bus with 34 people onboard mistakenly headed to the wrong parking spot, arriving at the correct spot a few minutes later than planned.
By that time, however, Solaseed Air flight 11 was already on its way to the runway.
After the ground handling company contacted Solaseed Air, the aircraft turned back and returned to its original parking spot. The remaining passengers were loaded, and the aircraft departed again at 7:47AM. It arrived in Kumamoto with a 25-minute delay at 9:35AM.
The exact cause of the incident is not clear.
