SMBC Aero Engine Lease (SAEL), a Netherlands-based 100% subsidiary of major Japan’s lessor Sumitomo Mitsui Financing and Leasing Company, concluded a transaction for its first Pratt & Whitney PW1127G spare engine with ANA on July 2, 2024, the company announced on July 15, 2024.

“SAEL is pleased to announce that it has delivered a PW1127G engine to ANA on a long term lease basis. This is a very important deal for us as it cements a strong relationship between ANA and SAEL,” said SAEL’s Managing Director and CEO Roger Welaratne.

The Pratt & Whitney PW1100G geared turbofan engine, of which the PW1127G is a variant, is one of the two engine options available for the Airbus A320neo family alongside the CFM International LEAP-1A. ANA uses the PW1127G on all 11 of its Airbus A320neos.
