Ryukyu Air Commuter to discontinue Japan’s shortest route

Ryukyu Air Commuter will discontinue Japan’s shortest scheduled route, Minamidaito – Kitadaito, which connects two Okinawan islands about 8 miles apart. The route will operate for the last time on July 31, 2024, and from August 1, 2024, the airline will instead increase frequencies on non-stop flights between Naha and the two islands.
