Nagoya’s railroad company Meitetsu will partner with ANA, JAL, Chubu Airport’s operator, Hokkaido Airports Co., and other organizations on an “Off-Airport Check-in Promotion Project” aimed at alleviating congestion on public transportation by separating passengers from their checked baggage earlier. The experiment, part of MLIT‘s “Demonstration Project for Regional Transportation Co-Creation Model,” will start by allowing select passengers on the Nagoya – Sapporo route between February 4 and 11, 2024, to drop their bags off at Meitetsu Nagoya Station.
