On January 17, JAL Group announced that from April 1, 2024, Mitsuko Tottori will take over the role of JAL Group President from Yuji Akasaka. Tottori will not only be the first woman to be JAL’s president but also the first flight attendant to have climbed through the ranks at the airline all the way to the top. Akasaka will become the company’s chairman.
