In 2023, Kansai Airport processed a total of 23.35 million passengers including 13 million international passengers. Osaka’s other airport, Itami, saw 14.75 million passengers (all domestic), and 3.43 million passengers (all domestic) traveled through Kobe, the third airport under Kansai Airports’ management. Kobe’s passenger numbers exceeded 2019 (102%) for the first time since the pandemic. Kansai Airport’s domestic passengers number has, at 99% of the 2019 figure, recovered too. That said, the number of international passengers using Kansai Airport in 2023 was still just 66% of the 2019 figure. Itami Airport processed 89% the number of passengers it did in 2019.
