On February 2, 2024, Jetstar launched a new route connecting Brisbane with Osaka Kansai. The flights will operate four times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday using the 787-8. The new flights, JQ23/JQ24, are the only non-stop link between the two cities. Jetstar also connects Tokyo Narita with Cairns and Brisbane and has plans to connect Sydney with Narita and Kansai from April 2024.
