JAL to increase Tokyo Narita – Melbourne from November 2024

JAL will use a mix of 787-8s and 787-9s on the route during the 2024 winter schedule.

Starting from November 1, 2024, JAL will double the frequency of its Tokyo Narita – Melbourne route from the current three weekly flights to six. With that, the route will operate as follows:

  • JL773 / Tokyo Narita – Melbourne / 5:40PM – 5:40AM+1 / Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun
  • JL774 / Melbourne – Tokyo Narita / 7:20AM – 3:15PM / Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun

JAL will use a mix of 186-seater Boeing 787-8s with 30 business and 156 economy class seats and and 195-seater 787-9s with 44 business, 35 premium economy, and 116 economy class seats on the route.

In addition to JAL, its oneworld partner Qantas also offers daily flights on the route.

Melbourne is one of two JAL destinations in Australia. The airline also serves Sydney out of Tokyo Haneda daily.
