JAL to buy one A350-900 to replace airframe lost in accident

At a press conference on January 17, 2024, JAL’s president Yuji Akasaka said the airline will buy one A350-900 to replace the airframe (JA13XJ) lost in Haneda’s tragic accident earlier this month. He mentioned that it would take one to two years for the aircraft to be delivered and that in the meantime, JAL is using a spare A350-900 to carry out its operations as planned.
