On March 31, 2024, JAL will resume flights between Nagoya Chubu and Shanghai Pudong for the first time in about four years. The flights will be operated five times a week using Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The route, which was operated until the pandemic brought the travel industry to a halt in March 2020, will operate with the following schedule once resumed:
- JL883 / Nagoya Chubu – Shanghai Pudong / 10:10AM – 12:00PM / Tue, Wed, Thu, Sat, Sun
- JL884 /Shanghai Pudong – Nagoya Chubu / 2:00PM – 5:30PM / Tue, Wed, Thu, Sat, Sun
On each flight, JAL will offer 144 seats including 12 in business class (recliners in a 2-2 layout) and 132 in economy class.
With JAL currently operating flights from Nagoya to Tianjin (twice a week) and Honolulu (five times a week), Shanghai will be the airline’s third international destination out of Japan’s third most-populous metropolitan area.
The Nagoya Chubu – Shanghai Pudong route is already served by Air China, China Eastern Airlines, Juneyao Air, Shanghai Airlines, and Spring Airlines, which offer over 30 weekly frequencies.
