Cyber attack disrupts JAL’s operations

JAL suffered a cyber attack this morning.

At 7:24 a.m. on December 26, 2024, JAL’s network was hit by a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) cyber attack, which disrupted its operations. The airline has recovered from the attack less than two hours later, around 9 a.m.

The attack, which led to the inability to use self baggage drop facilities at Tokyo Haneda led to a delay of over 70 flights and the temporary suspension of same-day departure ticket sales.

According to the airline, the cyber attack did not affect the its ability to operate safely.
