In February 2024, JAL will charge the following fuel surcharges per 1 kg of freight transported: 45 yen on flights to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Guam, and the Philippines; and 54 yen on all other routes within Asia; and 81 yen on long-haul flights. The January 2024 fuel surcharges are 50 yen, 60 yen, and 90 yen respectively. JAL updates its freight fuel surcharges monthly based on jet fuel spot prices in Singapore.
